In its 12th edition, AgroPonte receives SindArroz as an exhibitor for the first time
AgroPonte reaches its 12th edition, in Criciúma, aiming to promote the economy of Santa Catarina in the agribusiness sectors, family agriculture, industries and technology. The event takes place from 16 a 20 of August, at the José Ijair Conti Exhibition Pavilion, with several news. Between them, the confirmed presence of the Union of Rice Industries of Santa Catarina (SindArroz-SC).
“There are more than 20 years of history and we are always looking for news in each edition. This year could not be different. SindArroz being an exhibitor shows the greatness of the event and also of the union, that have 25 associated companies in Santa Catarina”, comments the director of NossaCasa Feiras & Events and founder of AgroPonte, Willi Backes.
SindArroz was founded in 1975, acting as a representative of the cereal companies of the state, in favor of improvements for the entire production chain. In the south of the state, cereal industries located in the Association of Municipalities of the Region of Laguna (Amurel), Association of Municipalities of the Carboniferous Region (Amrec) and Association of Municipalities of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (Amesc) are part of the union.
Today, 80% of rice production in Santa Catarina is produced in the south of the state. “In addition to being one of the main agricultural sectors that move our economy, rice production is extremely important, since it generates direct and indirect jobs. It is a factor that intensifies even more for small municipalities, that depend almost exclusively on the grain harvest. Thus, when the crop and price are good, the whole region benefits, comments Walmir Rampinelli, President of SindArroz-SC.
In the agriculture part, almost 50 thousand people work in grain production in Santa Catarina, which is distributed in 147 thousand hectares in 93 counties. Furthermore, more can be added 5 thousand people who work in industries. "At the moment, the south represents 80% of state production and contributed to 1,3 million tons in the last harvest”, emphasizes Rampinelli.
Importance of AgroPonte for SindArroz-SC
The union president comments that being present at AgroPonte is a way to strengthen the name of the union and the entire production chain, in addition to enabling more exchanges of experiences and knowledge, as well as possibilities for new partnerships.
“It is the first time that SindArroz-SC participates in AgroPonte and our expectation for the fair is the best possible. We hope to strengthen ties and, at the same time, bring more visibility and credibility to SindArroz-SC”, says Rampinelli.
AgroPonte strengthens partnerships
Over 30 thousand square meters and 280 exhibitors, AgroPonte aims to unite sectors, strengthen ties and spin the economy in the agribusiness sectors, family agriculture, industries and technology.
“We know that the daily lives of farmers, businessmen, consumers, buyers is rushed and, sometimes, don't have that tie. Na AgroPonte, all sectors are interconnected and can exchange experiences. Having SindArroz with us for the first time is precisely because of the importance of the union for our region and, Of course, for the population to perceive and understand the chain of cereal industries. We are happy to count on their participation”, points out the commercial director of NossaCasa Feiras e Eventos, Jacqueline Backes.
