From cattle to stingless bees: AgroPonte exhibits animals and connects the countryside to the city

The 13th edition of AgroPonte starts next Wednesday, is 14, at the José Ijair Conti Exhibition Pavilion, in Criciúma (SC), with various animals on display. In this year, the fair welcomes 220 bovinos PO (Pure of Origin) e PC (Pure by Cruza), sheep and goats, 40 horses, rabbit farmers with rabbits and similar, stingless fish and bees. The fair will also welcome the heaviest Brahman breed ox in Brazil.

For the animals, will be 10 thousand square meters and people will find Brahman breeds of cattle, Nellore, Angus, Expensive, Wagyu, Ultrablack, Hereford, Braford, Charolais, senepol, Guzerat, Limousin, Murray Grey, Dutch, Jersey and Dairy Gir. In sheep and goats there will be Dorper breeds, Suffolk, Santa Ines, Boer e Textel. There will also be horses of the Crioulo and Mangalarga breeds.

“AgroPonte is a link between the countryside and the city. Knowing animals is important for the preservation of species, food security and cultural understanding. Knowing the animals helps to understand the diversity of rural fauna and the role that each species plays in the ecosystem. It's an important moment for everyone, regardless of age”, observes the director of NossaCasa Feiras & Events and founder of AgroPonte, Willi Backes.

The Ultrablack race, for example, It's a synthetic breed, obtained through crosses, originally from australia. Its composition is based on 80% of Angus blood and 20% zebu. “It is a differentiated cattle that, for sure, people will want to know. Last year we had it on display and it attracted attention. Visitors will have another opportunity to get closer to this animal”, comments Backes.

Over 250 exhibitors, the event brings together the agribusiness sectors, family agriculture, industries and technology. AgroPonte starts on the day 14 and continues until 18 of August.
