AgroPonte 2024 there will be a Business Roundtable between producers and entrepreneurs

AgroPonte reaches its 13th edition, consolidated as the largest agribusiness fair in the State, involving the agricultural sectors, family agriculture, industries and technology. Em 2024, the event will be held 14 a 18 of August, at the José Ijair Conti Exhibition Pavilion, in Criciúma. In this year, the fair hosts the third edition of the Business Roundtable between businesspeople and 42 associations.

But this edition of the round will have something new: different from previous years, in which the round took place among the exhibitors, now it will take place in a more reserved environment. “We will also have producers from outside AgroPonte, because it is a round focused on the horticultural part, of vegetables and fruits. Then, we will have producers who will be exhibiting their products during the fair, but producers from abroad will also be invited and will take their products to the Business Roundtable”, explains Marcelo Silva Pedroso, veterinary doctor at Epagri and coordinator of the fair in the Family Farming sector.

According to Pedroso, will be on average 15 producer families participating in the round, who will be presenting their product portfolio, for potential buyers, which are supermarkets, Ceasa Tubarão wholesalers and boxers. The Business Round is a partnership between AgroPonte, Agricultural Research and Rural Extension Company of Santa Catarina (Epagri), Supply Centers in the State of Santa Catarina (Ceasa/SC) and Santa Catarina Integrated Agricultural Development Company (Citizens).

In the last edition, businesspeople stopped by each stand to talk to associations. “Epagri, in addition to mobilizing producers, will also call supermarkets. Ceasa/SC will mobilize the issue of wholesalers and boxers to carry out negotiations with the producers who will be present”, comments Pedroso.

In this year, the Business Round takes place on Thursday, is 15, to the 14 hours. “AgroPonte has always aimed to bring something new to the agricultural sectors, family agriculture, industries and technology, but also provide business opportunities. We want it to be an event to promote the economy of the South of Santa Catarina. The Business Roundtable is an opportunity for associations to sell their products to large chains”, points out the director of NossaCasa Feiras & Events and founder of AgroPonte, Willi Backes.
