Glass innovation: the venus ladder and the growth of the sector exposed at CasaPronta

CasaPronta's mission is to offer innovative and practical solutions for the construction sectors, furniture and decoration in just one space. The fair reaches its 21st edition and takes place at the José Ijair Conti Exhibition Pavilion, in Criciúma.

In this year, One of CasaPronta's new features is the Venus staircase, produced by the companies Unividros and Vidraçaria União, both from Tubarão, in the south of Santa Catarina. “The ladder was designed to demonstrate safety, transparency, refinement and practicality of glass. The staircase has in its construction the steps and landings, extra clear glass with non-slip paint. With an unprecedented design in Brazil and a global rarity, the staircase combines glass and stainless steel, weighing more than three tons”, comments Orlando Pedro Nascimento, director of Unividros.

According to Birth, this ladder, that impresses with its aesthetics and functionality, is part of an advanced architectural concept. “Its landings are covered with anti-slip paint imported from Spain, are complemented by extra clear glass railings, providing exceptional transparency and shine. The project is adaptable to different heights, allowing architects to explore their creative possibilities”, affirms.

Beyond the Venus Ladder, to Unividros, in partnership with Vidraçaria União, manufactures a variety of glass products, such as showcases and boxes. “Presence at fairs, like CasaPronta, highlights the growth of the sector. Glass consumption in Brazil increased from 5-6 kilos per capita, two decades ago, to eight to ten kilos currently, reflecting a growing demand for diverse applications, from construction to interior design”, observes the director.

With a team of 150 employees, The company stands out for its incessant search for innovation and quality, reaffirming its position at the forefront of the market. “The stairs really attract attention, because it is modern, different and mainly innovative. But, We have a range of products that we make with glass. We have been in the market for over 50 years with Univisa and more than 30 with the Union”, stresses.
