The period of the sanitary void and the soybean sowing calendar in Santa Catarina

The Integrated Agricultural Development Company of Santa Catarina (Citizens) discloses the period of sanitary void and soybean sowing calendar in Santa Catarina for the 2025/2026 established by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Map), na Ordinance No. 1.271, of 05 May 2025. The sanitary void consists of a continuous interval, during which it is forbidden to cultivate, maintain or allow the presence of living plants emerged from soy. During that period, also becomes mandatory to eliminate voluntary plants (Spontaneously born - Guaxa soy) We fields, aiming at breaking the pathogen cycle causing the disease. With the sanitary void there is a reduction of the population of the fungus in the environment during the off -season, significantly delaying the occurrence of the disease in the next crop.

The sowing calendar establishes the period allowed for soy planting, and aims at rationalizing the number of fungicide applications along the crop and, therefore, Reduce the fungal resistance selection pressure to fungicides.

Asian rust can compromise between 10% e 90% productivity in conditions favorable to fungal infection and development, being, therefore, one of the main threats to the sustainability of soy production in the country. The rigorous adoption of sanitary void and sowing calendar is essential to minimize risks and ensure the health of Santa Catarina crops.
